Bought this item and used it for two weeks (if even that) when the tip that plugs into the computer snapped right off. I don’t think it’s even made out of metal, it’s plastic. I thought I was getting a good deal when I bought this product but so much for that. Now I’m back at square one with nothing to charge my laptop with.

I purchased this charger for my HP Pavilion DV6500 laptop. I had it for about 2 weeks when it would start intermittantly stop charging my laptop. I would shake the adapter box a couple of times, thinking it might be a loose wire or something, and it would work again just fine. Then after having for another week without any problems I could not get it to work at all. I tried everything I could to get it to work and nothing seemed to help. After a more through inspection of the cable I found a hold in the outer insulating rubber covering and could see all the way to the wires underneath. The device has not been put through any unusal handling on my part and should have been more throughly inspected at the QA product line. This was a complete waste of money and I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go through HP or whoever the manufacturer of your laptop is for ANY kind of cable or powering device!!!!
