I purchased this WiFi adapter almost $80.00, but it is only work with checking stocks, weather, and short news. I expected the TV's could have more internet function than that. Hmm, Samsung should builds-in this device and more internet uses in the TV's.

I have a brand new samsung tv bought in 2009 - LN40A750

When you do a search for the usb adapter (WIS-08BG) the page comes up saying this product no longer available because this newer one came out. So thinking this new one would support my tv, I got it.

Well it arrived today and to my disappointment it did not work. Why would Samsung put out a product that isn't backwards compatible. That's just the work of a lazy company

once you plug it in, it's downhill from there. impossible to get connected to the wireless network. you'd have to be a software engineer to understand the lingo you have to decipher.

I saw the BD-P1600 Samsung blue ray player being sold at a Best Buy where my brother works. It was an open item and selling for $125. Not much when regular price is $150 but my brother gave me a discount of another $25 and he was nice enough to give another person also $25 discount so I got it for $100. Nevertheless, I did not do much research on this product and all I knew is what included the netflix, you tube feature etc. because there was a sticker showing it. My brother went to search for a remote control for me but meanwhile I saw a bag with a remote in it and little did I know the wifi usb adapter was in it but this was for a more expensive model and this player was a cheaper unit which relulary didn't include it. He even went as far as giving me another $10 discount. This shows you how good it is to have a family or friend working at the store. So in all I got a free wifi adapter, found a brand new remote control, a 2yr warranty and the unit looks and works like brand new. Grand total $96 included tax. Folks get someone you dearly love to work at a store.
